The ATR72 turboprop aircraft landed at Ljubljana Airport at 9:05 with 24 passengers on board and took off at 10 am with 40 passengers.
 
The Managing Director of Fraport Slovenia, Zmago Skobir, greeted the first flight with the following words: “This first flight is of extreme importance to us, because it is the first step to traffic recovery. We are looking forward to it, there is also some excitement in the air. The world needs a functioning air transport. And the challenge for all of us is to regain confidence in the importance and safety of air travel."
 
"We are delighted to recommence flights to Ljubljana today, which is the start of reconnecting to regional air traffic. From today until 21 June, we plan to operate 11 return flights. Depending on the demand, we hope to be able to increase the weekly number of our flights to the capital of Slovenia. Ljubljana is an extremely important destination for Air Serbia, as it provides an airbridge for our passengers to travel directly between the two cities, but also opens our network from Ljubljana via Belgrade to further destinations," said Duncan Naysmith, CEO Air Serbia.

The first scheduled airline landed at the airport two and a half weeks after the government re-opened the airport for international passenger traffic on 12 May. As part of measures to limit the spread of the new coronavirus, passenger traffic was stopped on 17 March.
