New KLM and Eurowings flights from spring 2025

13. 2. 2025

The year 2025 will bring increased air connectivity. The summer schedule will introduce two new additions. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will launch flights to Amsterdam at the end of March, and low-cost carrier Eurowings will start flights to Düsseldorf in mid-April. Additionally, all connections available during the last summer season will return.

KLM opens new opportunities for global travel via Amsterdam

Starting in late March, KLM will significantly enhance flight options to Amsterdam, introducing a new connection with daily flights. Together with Transavia flights, passengers will be able to fly to Amsterdam up to 11 times per week. Through its hub at Schiphol Airport, KLM will offer convenient onward flight options worldwide. Flights will be operated by KLM Cityhopper, KLM’s regional subsidiary, using Embraer 190 aircraft. Departures will be daily at 12:35 PM. Tickets are available on the airline's website www.klm.com, with one-way tickets from Ljubljana to Amsterdam starting at €70.

Eurowings launches flights to Düsseldorf

In April, Eurowings will enhance the range of low-cost flights at Ljubljana Airport with a new connection to Düsseldorf, operating three times a week. In addition to direct flights, this route will offer passengers onward travel options through Eurowings’ extensive network, particularly to popular European vacation destinations and capitals. Flights will be operated with Airbus A319 aircraft, departing at 12:50 PM on Mondays and Thursdays, and at 11:20 AM on Sundays. Tickets are available on www.eurowings.com, with one-way fares starting at €39.99.

Turkish Airlines and British Airways increasing flights

An important boost to connectivity will come from Turkish Airlines, which will increase its flights to Istanbul to 18 times per week starting in June 2025. Also, British Airways will upgrade its service to London Heathrow -  from June on the carrier will be offering eight weekly flights.

27 connections offered by 24 carriers

Based on current airline announcements, the summer schedule will also see the return of British Airways flights to London, Iberia flights to Madrid, Aegean Airlines flights to Athens, Transavia France flights to Paris (Orly), Finnair flights to Helsinki, and Air Montenegro flights to Tivat. During the summer season, 24 carriers will offer 27 connections to 26 airports.

Passenger traffic at Ljubljana Airport grew significantly in 2024 and is recovering as expected. We concluded the year with more than 1,4 million passengers and recorded a 13,3 %  annual growth. We achieved a 92% recovery of pre-pandemic traffic levels. This recovery comes despite the permanent loss of its Balkan hub function in 2019, which accounted for 200,000 transfer passengers who never set foot on Slovenian soil. Connections to Istanbul, Frankfurt, Zurich, Brussels, Warsaw, Belgrade, and Skopje have already exceeded pre-pandemic traffic levels, with routes to Paris and Munich also nearing full recovery.

Top destinations from Ljublajan Airport in 2024 were: Istanbul, London, Frankfurt, Zurich, Paris, Munich, Belgrade, Brussels, Dubai, Skopje, Warsaw and Amsterdam.
