What our employees think of us
We offer our employees personal and career development. Working at an airport requires specific knowledge and statutory licences that can only be obtained via on-the-job training. Many jobs at the airport can only be done if the employee has sufficient knowledge of the duties and processes involved in other jobs.
Our employees consider Aerodrom Ljubljana to be among the more successful companies in our environment. The company enjoys a good reputation and looks after the safety of its employees. They are satisfied with the possibilities of promotion and with the relaxed, equal and friendly interpersonal relations within the company.
The regular annual talks we hold with all our employees serve as a basis for encouraging efficiency and planning personal development. They have become an essential part of communication between managers and staff and help us set targets and steer the company towards the achievement of our common goals. These talks also provide us with quality information for recruiting and training.
Training is a value
In order to provide high quality airport services and the accompanying commercial activities, we need employees who are able to keep pace with the requirements of different airlines and with rapid technological changes. This is why we offer them constant training with help from the European Social Fund, which is providing co-financing of employee training and education. We use the funds obtained to provide specialist training at home and abroad.
We devote particular attention to the incorporation of new colleagues. Internal introductory seminars give them a chance to learn about the organisation of the company, the workings of the airport and its various services, safety at work and the importance of security at the airport. A planned mentorship programme helps us incorporate new colleagues more rapidly, reduces the time needed for induction and helps the company achieve its professional goals. This also increases employees' sense of belonging, which leads to a better climate within the organisation.
A young team
A large number of new employees has had the effect of rejuvenating the team. The average age of Aerodrom Ljubljana employees is 38.3 years (as at 31.12.2010).
We prize knowledge
The demanding technology we use in our work means that the personnel we employ in the operational services of the transport technology department have to have a suitable level of education. This is reflected in the small proportion of employees with level I, II and III vocational qualifications and the larger proportion with level IV and V qualifications. The share of employees with university education continues to increase, as a result of the modernisation of operational processes, an intensive investment cycle, active marketing and the implementation of standards in the sphere of civil aviation safety.
